Birmingham Policy Community

Why a Birmingham Policy Community?

The Birmingham Policy Community involves a range of stakeholders who collaborate to co-create ideas and inform policy direction within the City.

Having a platform to bring together a wider network of resources to undertake policy development projects is essential if we are to meet the expectations of the new administration.

A “community” approach will provide a more inclusive policy development process, making use of the vast resource of knowledge and experience in the city and beyond and helping to create a more outward looking culture within the city council. The community will bring together the existing work with the city’s universities (the Research Intelligence Coalition and the Public Service Academy) with think tanks and other national bodies as well as the voluntary and community sectors, business and professional groups and their members.
